FAQs

What is Homeopathy and how does it work?

Homeopathy is not the same as herbal medicine.  We do use remedies made from herbs and plants, but these are prepared differently to herbal medicines.  Homeopaths also use remedies made from the mineral and animal kingdom, as well as more intangible substances, such as x-ray and sunlight.

In a nutshell, homeopathy is a holistic, individualised and gentle form of medicine that stimulates the body’s own ability to heal.  It sees ill-health as symptoms of imbalance in the body and looks at the way the person is uniquely expressing these symptoms.  Homeopathic treatments are thus tailor-made for each individual; they are holistic, treating the whole body, mind and spirit.

What are Homeobotanicals?

These wonderful remedies are a combination of herbal medicine and homeopathy, which focus on detoxing and rebalancing specific organs and systems in the body.  They are specially prepared organic herbal blends which are then prepared homeopathically, and make the healing power of herbs more gentle and effective.

How long will my treatment last?

Homeopathy is not a miracle cure or magic pill.  Yes, sometimes people have amazing and immediate healing experiences through homeopathy, but that is not usually the case, just like with any other form of medicine.  Healing takes time, especially if you’ve had a chronic condition for a long time.  It requires patience and perseverance.

If you come to me with a long-standing chronic condition, then on average you will start to see improvements in 2 to 3 sessions, and will probably need several appointments to resolve the issue.

If you come to see me with a short-term issue, then it is likely to resolve faster.

It is all down to the individual situation and person.

What is included in the consultation fee?

In addition to my time with you during the appointment, all homeopathic remedies are included, and postage within the UK if applicable.  If you have to communicate with me about your current treatment in between appointments that is included in the fee (as agreed on our client-therapist agreement).

Things not included are:

  • Essences (£8-10)
  • Homeobotanicals (£20)
  • Postage outside the UK
  • Consultations in between appointments that are not related to your current treatment.
Can I claim the costs of homeopathy on my medical insurance?

Some medical insurance providers do cover homeopathy, please check with your individual provider.

Some health cash plans, like SimplyHealth, MediCash, BHSF and Sovereign, also cover part of the costs of your homeopathic consultations.

What are essences? Are the they same as essential oils?

Essences are not the same thing as essential oils.

Essences are vibrational healing remedies made from flowers, gems, minerals, animals and even special places.   All these things have a unique energy pattern and healing quality, which can be transferred into a liquid medium by placing the healthy substance into a bowl of pure water, leaving it to potentise in the sun.  The infusion that is produced by this process is the essence of that substance, and carries its healing energy.

The first and most well-known essences were the flower essences developed by Dr. Edward Bach in the 1920’s in the UK.  Nowadays there are many other essences from all over the world, including Australian Bush Flower EssencesAlaskan EssencesIndigo EssencesWild Earth Animal EssencesBailey Essences, and many more.

Can I still use homeopathy if I'm taking medication?

Of course!  Homeopathy will not interfere with conventional medication, and can be taken alongside.  You may even find that homeopathy will help you leave your medication behind.

Some medications will cause homeopathy to work slower or less effectively.  Sometimes these are suppressing symptoms or causing other symptoms that make things worse for you.  I will work with whatever your situation is the best I can, and I will never ask you to not take your medication.

Can I take homeopathy while I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, yes, yes!  Homeopathy is safe for pregnant women and babies, young and old, and everything in between!  It’s even safe for animals and plants!

If I cancel my appointment will I be charged?

As long as you cancel with at least 48 hours notice you will not be charged.   If you cancel with less than 48 hours notices, then you may be charged depending on circumstances.  This is to cover my room rental fees and the lost appointment time which may have been taken by another patient.

I don't live in Hereford or near you. Can I still see you?

Yes!!  For non-local clients I offer virtual consultation through Skype, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Zoom.  Whatever is easiest for you.

I usually ask for pre-payment for these appointments, an invoice will be sent to you before.

Remedies will be posted to you soon after your appointment.
